FAQ
Here are all the answers to life. Well, at least the
answers to those silly questions we have to hear a
million times.
Q1. What is this project anyway?
A1. "Sam and Max: Flintlocked!" is a fan project, based
on Steve Purcell's semi-popular dog and rabbit crime-
fighting duo, and is supposed to make up for the lost
"Sam and Max Freelance Police," cancelled without any
reason at all by corporate busybodies at Lucasarts in
March of 2004.
Q2. What's the story?
A2. A summary of the premise is: Mysterious
circumstances involving Sam and Max being declared
dead and the disappearance of Flint Paper (their
slightly deranged private dick neighbor) are put
into motion, but that's all we can say without
spoiling the rest of it!
Q3. Who's the bad guy? Conroy Bumpus? Fritz Nunkie?
...Lucasarts?
A3. No comment. We can't really talk about him
(he'd do terrible things to us!), but we can give you
two hints. One: you've seen him before. Two: It
isn't Lucasarts.
Q4. Any other Sam and Max characters making a return?
A4. Uhhhh......next question.
Q5. Can I join the team? Pleeeeeeeeease? I promise
not to break anything!
A5. Go to the official discussion forums and state what
you want to do or what your talent is. Send a sample
of your work if possible. But you must be sworn to
secrecy on the inner workings of the game or else we'll
be forced to duct-tape you to a chair, gag you, and
call you mean names, and who would want that anyway?
And you can't be some Sam and Max fanboy (not to say
that the current team members aren't, but...) wanting
to know the secrets of the game. You actually have to
do something.
Q6. Any demos I can play?
A6. Coming early 2006.
Q7. Does this have anything to do with Lucasarts'
cancelled Sam and Max game?
A7. No. While the interface is supposed to be the same
(as far as we can imitate), the game has no ties with
the cancelled Freelance Police at all, except for the
fact that Sam & Max are in it.
Q8. Aren't you afraid Lucasarts is going to sue you?
A8. Since Lucasarts no longer owns the rights to do
anything with Sam & Max, we're not concerned anymore.
Q9. What kind of gameplay will it be?
A9. It will be a graphic, 2D point-n-click
adventure game.
Q10. So, when's this game gonna be out?
A10. When it's done. We're hoping sometime either
next year or the year after. Maybe by 3487 if we're
lucky, to be frank. Production isn't what you'd call
"speedy," but things are getting finished. We're
planning on releasing the game in three separate parts,
so the first release will be here sooner than a full
length game would be.
Q11. Yeah, and where's the bathroom?
A11. Right down the hall, take a left, up the elevator,
down the stairs, across the hallway, through the cellar,
past the water fountain, and to the left. Then, up
three doors, up to the attic, down the staircase,
through the cellar, up the ladder, into the hallway,
down three doors, out the window, and to the right.
Q12. Okay, let's see if I can find it...
A12. Scram- I mean bye! No, really, scram.
